This Privacy Policy describes how Penn2Meet ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our website (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Event Information: When you create an event, we collect the event name, date range, time window, and timezone.
- Participant Information: To participate in an event, we collect your name and your indicated availability. If you choose to set a password to protect your name, we store that as well.
- Google Calendar Data: If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we access your calendar's free/busy information for the dates of the event. This allows us to identify times you are unavailable. We do not access, read, or store any other information from your calendar, such as event titles, descriptions, locations, or attendees. This access is read-only.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our Service.
- Display individual and group availability to help schedule events.
- Allow you to sync your availability with your Google Calendar to simplify the scheduling process.
- Secure your participant name with a password if you provide one.
3. Data Storage and Security
All data you provide is stored securely in Firebase, a Google Cloud Platform service. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Google User Data: We do not store your Google Calendar event details on our servers. When you sync your calendar, we temporarily access your free/busy information in memory to determine your availability and update your selections for the event. This data is not retained after the sync process is complete. The authentication token granting access to your calendar is used for a single session and is not stored.
Event Data: The event details and participant availability you create directly on Penn2Meet are stored until the event is deleted by its creator.
5. Third-Party Services
We use Google Authentication and the Google Calendar API to provide the calendar sync feature. Your use of these features is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share your personal information with any other third parties.
6. Your Rights
You can view and clear your availability for any event you have joined. You are not required to provide any personal information beyond a name to use the service.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
